Notch Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-07-15
Overview
Notch is a native iPhone checklist app. It is designed for local, personal task lists.
The current build does not require an account, login, external sync, notifications, contacts, location, camera, or microphone access.
Data Stored On Device
Notch stores checklist data locally on the device, including:
- Sheet names
- Checklist item text
- Completion state
- App settings such as paper tone, haptic preference, plan state, Plus entitlement source, and ad cooldown timestamp
This data is stored through the app's local storage and is used only to run the checklist experience on the device.
Checklist Data We Do Not Collect
Notch does not collect or transmit the following checklist data to the developer or the advertising provider:
- Account information
- Login credentials
- Contact information
- Location
- Photos, camera, or microphone data
- Calendar or reminder data
- Health or financial data
- User-generated checklist content to an external server
In-App Purchases
Notch Plus purchases and restores are handled by Apple's App Store purchase system.
Notch uses App Store purchase or restore state only to unlock Plus features in the app. Payment processing, receipts, refunds, and billing account details are handled by Apple under Apple's terms and privacy practices.
Advertising And Tracking
The Free plan uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK to show Google AdMob interstitial ads. Ads are shown only after meaningful checklist use, are delayed so they do not cover the immediate completion reward moment, and are limited to at most once per 24 hours. Notch Plus does not request or show these ads.
Before requesting ads, Notch uses Google's User Messaging Platform to gather consent where required. Ad requests are configured as non-personalized. Notch does not request App Tracking Transparency permission and does not request access to the iOS advertising identifier (IDFA).
Google and its advertising partners may process information needed to deliver, limit, secure, and measure ads, including device and app information, IP address, approximate location inferred from IP address, advertising interactions, diagnostics, consent choices, and identifiers permitted by the device and the user's settings. Non-personalized ads can still use local storage or identifiers for frequency capping, aggregated reporting, fraud prevention, and technical ad delivery.
Notch does not send sheet names or checklist item text to Google Mobile Ads. The current build does not include a separate third-party analytics SDK.
For details about Google's processing, see Google's Privacy & Terms: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Data Sharing
The current build does not share sheet names or checklist item text with third parties.
Google Mobile Ads and User Messaging Platform may process advertising, device, consent, and diagnostic data as described above.
Apple may process purchase-related information when a user buys or restores Notch Plus through the App Store.
Children
Notch is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
This policy should be updated before release if Notch changes its advertising, consent, accounts, cloud sync, analytics, notifications, contacts, location, camera, microphone, or other data practices.
